09-03-2025: Now that the pike are spawning, it is time to go after other fish species. Yesterday I went carp fishing with my oldest son. Despite the fact that we have seen several carp swimming, we did not manage to catch 1. That's why I went feeder fishing today with a colleague. After a few nice breams I managed to catch a nice tench. For me the most beautiful fish we have in the Netherlands.
10-03-2025: For now, this is the last warm day in March. From tomorrow, temperatures will rise again to 10 degrees, and they predict some more rain. But today I enjoyed the nice weather. And of course the fishing! Because after a nice bream, I managed to catch a tench again today.
17-03-2025: The tench are really going wild now. Today I managed to catch 2 again. I won't say it often about a bream, but today's one was a very nice fish.
23-03-2025: Of course, every fisherman also wants to catch a fish, but often enjoying the outdoors is more than enough. Today the sun was shining, there was almost no wind, and I had a nice pod cast on. The fact that I had to wait 3 hours before the first bite was not a punishment. Sometimes we want to focus too much on catching, and we forget to enjoy all the beauty that nature has to offer.
24-03-2025: Tench time has really arrived. The shallow clear water is now warming up quickly, but is still fishable because the aquatic plants are not yet present. From June onwards, these waters are full of plants, and fishing with the feeder is almost impossible to do.
31-03-2025: The last day before the closed season. Actually, I went feeder fishing today. But because it was the last day that we were allowed to predator fish in the Netherlands, I took my pike rod again. It was a nice day full of bites, and 4 pikes that I managed to catch.
