30-09-2019 till 04-10-2019: Sometimes you drive away from a fishing water but you would prefer to turn your car 180 degrees immediately. I had this feeling when I drove away from Carpinsula (kingpool) a month ago. Luckily I was allowed to try it again this week, not on kingpool this time but on mintpool, a lake with not very big carp but very beautiful carp! To my surprise I was the only fisherman on all the lakes so i was able to chat again with Jelle the owner of Carpinsula. At the moment you can fish on four lakes so I definitely have to come back twice to fish at the two other lakes.
Unfortunately, the photos are not great because it remains difficult when you are alone to take a photo with a fish.
13-10-2019: During the past days it rained all the way through but today it was finally dry for a few hours. I quickly drove to Zoeterwoude and followed one of the farm paths. After the first pike managed to escape, it was possible to catch a small pike. But the best catch was a big bass today. If you ever go fishing in Zoeterwoude, don't go fishing where I placed the red circle! Only license holders with a fishing license from Leiden can fish here.
17-10-2019: Slowly the days get darker and the temperatures lower. This can be seen at the pike that are hunting to quickly fill themselves up before the real winter comes. After two pikes, another beautiful perch was caught in the polders of Ouder kerk aan de IJssel.
19-10-2019 till 26-10-2019: And that was our last "big" trip in 2019. Unfortunately, no big fish were caught during our vacation in Croatia, but the colors of the fish were fantastic.

Coast fishing
Along the coast of Croatia it is very easy to catch many species of fish during the day. Just make sure you have small hooks and a packet of frozen squid from the supermarket. A day full of fun can then begin.
A visit to the national parks of Croatia can of course not be missed. There is plenty of water and also a lot of fish. Unfortunately it is forbidden to fish in the parks themselves.

We have seen so many pike and chubs swimming.

Unlike the other national parks you can fish here! A fishing license can be purchased for 70 kuna at one of the entrances to the park. We have only seen a dead pike floating but carp should also swim in the lake.
Sea fishing from a boat
Of course a day of fishing from the boat could not be missing. Unfortunately, the catch was disappointing in terms of size, although our guide did catch a nice fish. But we had a great day with a great fishing guide.

There is a fish that can ruin your vacation and that is the greater weever. It is almost certain that you will catch one because the sea of croatie is full of it. If the stories are correct, a sting of these fish will cause a hellish pain for 3 hours.
30-10-2019 till 31-10-2019: Before we drove to Vinkeveen, we already knew that this is not a easy water to catch a pike. Many websites mention this, but of course the hope is that we would find the way to catch a few very nice pike. We tried all sorts of things, but in the end we did not get a bite despite the fact that we had been fishing for two days. Fortunately the weather was beautiful and the nature amazing so we will definitely be back for a second chance.
