03-10-2022: Okay, no big pike today but what a beautiful day. No wind at all and plenty of sun.
04-10-2022: Today was a day of ups and downs. I started fishing at 9:00 this morning and didn't get a bite until 12:00. So i looked for a new place at 12:00. And in 10 minutes i caught 3 carp. After that it was quiet again so i went again to a new place. Also here i caught within 5 minutes a carp, then a bream and then another beautiful carp. Unfortunately when landing this carp my phone fell into the water :(
08-10-2022 till 09-10-2022: Inflation has also increased in the Netherlands. Booking a night away is just not fun anymore. But after a lot of searching I came to the site www.trekkershutten.nl. Here I found a hiker's cabin for 5 people for which they asked less than 60 euro's. So I drove to the beautiful town of Opheusden with my youngest son and two of his friends. Saturday evening we first went fishing in the Nederrijn where unfortunately we were only able to catch 1 small asp. After a night in the hiker's cabin, we went pike fishing in the polders around Opheusden. Fortunately we managed to catch 3 nice pike here.
11-10-2022: It is becoming a habit that when my wife has to work on Tuesdays in Rotterdam, I go fishing the city parks there. After the 5 carp I managed to catch in one of the parks last week, I now went to another park. The waters of these two parks are connected, but the carp cannot swim from one park to the other. This is because a grid has been placed between the two park waters. It wasn't easy today either and I only found out after a few hours where the carp were. But the result may be there ;)
15-10-2022: Carp, Pike, Carp and today another pike. October remains a great fishing month in which everything can be caught :)
16-10-2022: Today the pike were hungry. In an hour of fishing I managed to catch two pike, but unfortunately also lost 2 pike.
22-10-2022 till 29-10-2022: Finally another week's holiday, and we're going to do something completely different. This time we went to Denmark. When we think of Denemaren we quickly think of Legoland, Copenhagen and the little mermaid. But Denmark is also known for its many put and take ponds full of trout. There are not only many ponds, but the trout are also much larger than those that are released in the Dutch ponds. Our holiday home was in the town of Egtved, a 15-minute drive from Legoland. Within a 15-minute drive there were also about 10 trout ponds of which we visited 4.
23-10-2022: The trip to Denmark was very disappointing. The planned 8 hours travel time eventually became 12 hours because a highway in Germany was closed and we had forgotten our passports. And of course we were put aside by customs in Denmark for a check. But Sunday it was finally time, after a nice walk we went to the first pond that was 5 minutes from our house. After an hour, no one had caught anything. The joy was great when I caught the first trout.
25-10-2022: Monday we went to the zoo for a day. And because we were tired from the long journey, we took it easy. But Tuesday morning the alarm clock was early and we went fishing at fish pond Lystfiskerparadiset. A very nice pond in a narrow valley between the hills. In total there were 3 ponds and because other fishermen stayed in one of the ponds we had our pond entirely to ourselves. In the end we managed to catch 2 beautiful trout here.
26-10-2022: On Wednesday we went fishing at trout pond stenvad. On arrival we saw several trout swimming, so we were immediately confident. But how disappointing it was. After 2 hours we hadn't caught anything while we saw dozens of trout swimming. After two hours I went to another part of the pond where a nice trout immediately grabbed my lure. After my daughter found a large worm, we went fishing with it. With this, my wife also managed to catch a beautiful trout.
27-10-2022: Well, if you are in Denmark, a visit to Legoland can not be missed:). So on Thursday we went for a walk between the Lego bricks .
28-10-2022: Howborg Fiskeso has a different way of paying than most other ponds in Denmark. At the other ponds you pay per hour and what you catch you can take with you, sometimes with a maximum number. At Hovborg, you pay per caught trout. Before you go fishing you have to pay the number and write it down on your personal card. However, there are so many fish in the pond that my daughter caught the 5 trout within half an hour. However, they were a lot smaller than at the other ponds.
30-10-2022: The weather was so nice today that I went pike fishing behind my house.
