31-08-2020 till 04-09-2020: Fortunately, the corona infections in Belgium are declining rapidly, so that we Dutch were allowed to go fishing in Belgium again. This week our fishing water Gio lake is one of the many lakes of karperhoeven. Giolake is a lake of almost one hectare with carp, catfish and a sturgeon. And after months of not being caught we managed to get this one sturgeon on the hook.
07-09-2020: The intention was actually to catch some mackerels today, but upon arrival the sea turned out to have a muddy color. Not good conditions for mackerel so I went fishing for sea bass.
09-09-2020: I personally enjoy visiting every commercial fishing pond once, but once I've been there, the fun is over. For the children it remains a fun experience with almost fish guarantee. Hopefully this will motivate them to also pick up fishing outside the ponds.Together with my youngest son I managed to catch 12 fish. 1 carp, 3 catfish and 8 sturgeons.
11-09-2020 till 13-09-2020: Sometimes it is nice if you can combine fishing holidays with an amusement park or zoo. Holiday park de beeksebergen is the solution for this. For example, with every accommodation you get free tickets for the adjacent zoo and amusement park. The fishermen among us can also enjoy themselves on the lake or canal. Unfortunately the bream did not want to bite and we managed to catch 3 gobies and 13 roaches.

At the park you can fish in both the large lake (Victoria Lake) and the canal (Wilhelmina Canal). Lake Victoria is connected to the Wilhelmina Canal so the fish can swim in and out here. We only fished in the canal.
