12-12-2020: After the long car ride a few weeks ago to Friesland, we now went again for a two-hour drive to the east of the country. This time we visited the fish ponds from wild in Reutem.. On Saturday we first went fishing for sturgeon, which turned out to be no easy task. Fortunately my daughter managed to catch a beautiful sturgeon with the help of her brother. My youngest son hooked a big fish but unfortunately the line broke after 30 minutes ..... We suspect it was one of the larger sturgeons in the pond.

13-12-2020: Sunday morning we drove back to the ponds but this time we went trout fishing. Again it was my daughter who was the first to catch a trout. After this I managed to catch a trout myself, after which my daughter caught another with my fishing rod. Eventually my oldest son also managed to get a nice trout.
20-12-2020: Today I went fishing in National Park The Biesbosch with my wife, youngest son and daughter. Despite the fact that it is the last beautiful day of the year that they predict, it was still cold due to the strong wind. The fish also refused to bite the first hours. Luckily my youngest son managed to catch a nice pike after 3 hours and my wife end the day with a very nice perch.
31-12-2020: I still remember how optimistic I was in January. With holidays to Morocco, Norway and Belgium in prospect, 2020 would be a great year! But unfortunately all plans fell in to pieces in March when one country after another closed its borders in connection with corona. All plans were changed to holidays in my own country. To be honest, I have come to appreciate my home country more. Especially fishing for asp is one of the things I want to do more in the future. And I will not soon forget my personal recort trout that I managed to catch this year. On the one hand, 2020 is a year that I also want to forget quickly, but more plans have been made this year to not only look beyond the borders to beautiful fishing areas in the future.

Various fishermen all over the world are now curious about the possibilities of fishing in the Netherlands. On average, 100 people per day visit the site with an average of 5 pages per person. Every week I receive one or more questions about fishing in the Netherlands, especially about arranging permits. Hopefully it will be possible again in 2021 to meet the people who now email me in real life so that we can practice our hobby together here in the Netherlands or elsewhere in the world.
