05-08-2024: I think I've crossed the Moerdijk bridge a hundred times, but I had never fished here before. Unfortunately, it turned out to be less deep than hoped, so the chance of zander was very small, especially in this weather. Luckily I managed to catch 2 pike and an asp.
11-08-2024: The alarm clock was set early today because they predict temperatures of around 30 degrees in the afternoon. Upon arrival we saw a lot of carp swimming, but unfortunately they were not hungry. Around 12:00 I managed to catch a small carp after which we drove home.
12-08-2024: Pike-perch fishing remains a challenge for me. But slowly it gets better and better. So I managed to catch a nice pike-perche today. The bites of these beautiful fish remain great.
13-08-2024: The water temperature is really starting to get too warm to go predator fishing. That's why today I went fishing for carp in one of the many ponds in Rotterdam. It remains one of my favorite ways of fishing. Actually, all you need is a fishing rod, float, landing net, unhooking mat and a can of corn. For a few euros you can have a great day.
24-08-2024: I'm starting to enjoy fishing in Gouda more and more. Actually, everything can be caught. With a pike, pike-perch and two perch, it was again a surprise today what was going to be caught. Unfortunately I also lost a big pike.
25-08-2024: Last week a youtube video came online of a well-known Dutch fisherman who caught a lot of beautiful carp in Spaarnwoude. So today I drove an hour to Spaarnwoude, and guess what.... Only caught a bream; (
26-08-2024: Today the fishing went a lot better than yesterday. After a nice pike and a perch I managed to catch a nice zander.
31-08-2024: You have those evenings when everything seems to be going well. After a nice pike that my eldest son managed to catch, I managed to reel in a nice perch. The cherry on the cake came just before dusk when my son caught a great zander.
