01-01-2022: I remember well that I wrote in January 2021 that I had a bad feeling about the corona measures in 2021. Also before 2022 I am afraid that fishing trips outside the European union is not wise. Fortunately, it seems that the current virus variant (omikron) is not much more sickening than the previous variants. The 3rd vaccination has also been planned for me, which will probably not be the last in 2022. And we have now booked a number of fishing trips again. Hopefully 2022 will be a year in which we can go fishing outside the Netherlands again.
What will we do (hopefully) in 2022:
-A long weekend of pike fishing with dead bait in one of the large lakes in the Netherlands.
-A week of pike fishing with dead bait in one of the well-known rivers in the Netherlands.
-A weekend carp fishing in Belgium.
-A weekend carp fishing in the Netherlands.
-A weekend Tuna fishing in Spain.
-Three weeks of barbel fishing in a well-known river in Belgium.
01-01-2022: What better way to start the new year!? Of course with a few hours of fishing. The first 2 pike's of 2022 have been caught ;)
04-01-2022: And that's number 3.
09-01-2022: Today I drove to Bergambacht again to see if the pike wanted to bite. Within 5 minutes I managed to catch one in the center. Perhaps more special was the barn owl that I saw perched in a bush along the road.
11-01-2022: A quick round with the pike rod behind my house.
14-01-2022 till 18-01-2022: A few years ago I already went fishing from this house. I already knew that there is a lot of pike swimming around. Still I was surprised that the first two fish were not pike but pikeperch. Especially because I was fishing with 20cm sardines.
24-01-2022: After the predatory fishing of the past few weeks, it was time for something different. Today we drove to the harbors in Rotterdam to go sea fishing. Unfortunately we only managed to catch 3 small Flounders and a rock goby. And in the end, also a sea houting. Not a big fish but one that we had never caught.
25-01-2022: A beautiful day with two beautiful pike's.
30-01-2022: Together with my wife I went for a weekend to the nice place Broek in Waterland, just above Amsterdam. Saturday there was no fishing due to the strong wind, but when the wind dropped for a while today I couldn't resist taking the fishing rod.
