01-01-2019: It is the beginning of a new year with new opportunities. Also 2019 looks like it is going to be a nice fishing year with nice experiences because the first holidays are already booked and we are planning on a few more holidays.

What will we do in any case in 2019:

- a week of pike fishing in one of the larger peat lakes in the Netherlands.
-Three nights carp fishing in Belgium.
-Two and half week carp and sturgeon fishing in Frence.
-A weekend fishing for carp in a well-known water in the Netherlands.

Fishing holidays that we are still planning.

-A week fishing in the middle of Germany.
-A weekend sea fishing in Ireland.
-A week sea fishing in Croatia.

Of course we will try different ways of fishing in the Netherlands again. January and February will be mainly dedicated to pike fishing but later in the year we will try to focus more on sea fishing especially with the port of Rotterdam almost in our backyard. And the pike perch is a fish that is on the bucket-list for 2019.

This coming week will mainly focus on working because all holidays must of course be paid and also in the Netherlands, different prices from today have gone up again.

07-01-2019: No, the first caught fish in 2019 is not a pike but a tench. Okay, now I have to be honest, I've hooked this fish in its dorsal fin. Unfortunately it did not succeeded to catch a pike today.

22-01-2019: No, I have not stopped fishing, but since it has frozen a lot the last few days, there is now a layer of ice on all ditches. The next few days it will stay cold, so instead of fishing I am working a lot of hours to be able to pay for future fishing trips.

31-01-2019: A tip for the fishermen who live near Deventer. On the internet you can bid until 4 February on fishing tackle articles from the bankruptcy of angling Arnhem in Deventer.
