28-04-2018 till 11-05-2018: After six months of waiting, it finally happened and we went fishing for two weeks in one of the ponds (poplarslake) of etangs de breton.
Eventually we managed to catch 23 catfish. Most of them we caught with a bunch of worms floating on a running rig 30 cm above the bottom.
In 2017 we also fished with a rod on carp. Except for catfish, the ponds of etangs de breton are certainly also recommended to fish for carp.
18-05-2018 till 21-05-2018: Just back from France and we can go fishing for another weekend in Tine ''s lake, one of the lakes of Karperhoeve. Last year I fished in Timmy's lake without any result so we did not leave on Friday with high expectations. Upon arrival we heard that the fishermen had caught eighteen fish for us, which immediately led to more confidence. With us the counter stuck on 10 fish. Four carp, four sturgeons and two catfish. On Sunday, we managed to get five bite alarms an hour before a thunderstorm, four of which we caught.
27-05-2018: Today it was hot with temperatures of around 30 degrees, nice weather to fish with a piece of bread on carp. I think this is the cheapest way of fishing. With a piece of bread, rubber band and a carp hook and of course a fishing rod with 28 mm thread you are ready for action. It is not only the cheapest way of fishing but also the most exciting when a carp slowly swims to the bread. After 2 hours of fishing the wind came up and the carp no longer swam on the surface but eventually managed to catch 2 nice carp. Many carp were still in the spawn where I was surprised about
