If you think that the whole of the Netherlands is flat, then you are almost right. Yet there are a few places where hills occur and one of these places is the very south of the Netherlands. And let here also be two beautiful fish ponds full of carp.
14-05-2021: Today we went fishing for carp in the pond of Wijlre. A very nice carp pond full of carp up to 5 kilos. Especially with the feeder rods, they gave a nice sport and after 4 hours of fishing we had caught 20.
15-05-2021: On Saturday we went fishing in the carp pond of Valkenburg. Unfortunately we were unable to catch anything and the fishermen who managed to hook a carp had put their lines with a boat against the other side of the pond.
16-05-2021: Unfortunately it is almost impossible to fish in one of the beautiful rivers in Limburg. These are not covered by the national permit and the angling clubs that are allowed to fish here have waiting times of a few years. On Monday we did have a nice walk along one of the rivers "De geul" During the walk we saw several chubs swimming.
29-05-2021: Today we had a nice day fishing in the fishing pond Neerven. Although we saw several carp swimming, we were unable to catch one. After some nice roaches, it was a perch that made my day. At the end of the day a pike caught one of the roaches that was hooked but unfortunately my line broke. A great fishing spot in the middle of nature! Please note that this pond is not in the national permit, but that you have to buy 1 at the local pet shop for 3 euros. During the day of fishing we were checked twice, so a permit is definitely recommended.
