05-12-2021: What a strange day pike fishing it was today. First my oldest son and I both lost a pike and after an hour we still didn't get a bite. At a certain point we come to a ditch, two meters wide. My son throws in from the right and I from the left side. Immediately I get a pike on the line. Pike unhooked and put back neatly. Then my son catches up with his fishing rod and it turns out that he also has a pike on the line.
06-12-2021: Because my son had two days off from school, we went fishing for two days at the ponds of Slothoeve. The first day on sturgeon and carp. Despite the cold weather we managed to catch 4 beautiful sturgeons and 3 carp. Also 5 small giebel carp were caught.
Because we didn't feel like driving back home after the first day, we took a hotel a 10-minute drive from the ponds.
07-12-2021: Tuesday we drove back from the hotel to the ponds. This time to fish for trout. We managed to catch 9 of the 10 released trouts. It was equally exciting when I got an abino catfish on the line. Unfortunately, I was unable to catch it in the end.
12-12-2021: While the rest of the Netherlands was watch Max Verstappen become world champion in the formula 1, I went fishing anyway. After two pikes just missed the bait, pike number three managed to find it.

And 2021 is now also over. A year in which, due to the corona measures in the Netherlands, I decided to work fully again. And a year with a few disappointments. The cancellation of carp fishing in Morocco and our fishing holiday in Norway. Fortunately, there were also many beautiful fishing moments in our own country (The Netherlands), Belgium and of course Spain.
